Nursery News

After what seems like a very long wait, our gates will finally be open from Wednesday the 14th of April. Our usual opening hours will resume, Wednesday - Saturday, until the 23rd of October.

It has been a fairly cool spring so far, we are looking forward to some much needed sun to push the plants and us on! Nevertheless our beds are quickly filling with some lovely perennials and grasses to tempt you.

In the meantime we are offering free local delivery on orders over £30 or alternatively, collection from the nursery gate.

Who we are

A family run nursery set on a hill overlooking the beautiful South Somerset countryside. From humble beginnings at our original site in North Dorset we have developed our new nursery to provide us with a dream space to grow the plants we love.

Our passion lies in growing a wide range of herbaceous perennials and ornamental grasses to suit all the different growing conditions found in gardens. Having honed our palette of plants over the years we are proud to offer our customers the best species and cultivars available.

Locally grown plants for the discerning gardener

Our nursery at Cabbage Lane is open four days per week from the 11th of March to the 24th of October.

Opening times

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 09.30am - 16.30pm

Saturday 10am - 16.00pm

Monday, Tuesday and Sunday - Closed

Less is more

We grow wild species or cultivars that are closely related to their wild cousins. Plants that will be reliable, long lived and low maintenance.

Planting wilder perennials is one of the best ways of attracting pollinators into your garden. Providing a rich source of pollen and nectar from Spring to Autumn.

We take an environmentally friendly approach to running our nursery. Using peat free compost, biological pest controls where necessary, recyclable pots and harvesting rain water for irrigation.
